Around 1600 BCE, a group of ancient balts immigrated upwards to what is now known as Finland. The language started to remove some of its consonant clusters and developed many diphongs. The primal "i" sounds in the native words were flattened to "e" sounds. The 7 cases, Nomative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, Locative, Vocative, and Instrumental still exist in modern day Vatambrian. Vatambrian in the alternate universe is said to be a very ancient language. Vatambrian is a North Baltic language apart of the Indo-European family.
